Local veteran Lee Gerard was at Greenlawn Cemetery Monday honoring the deceased veterans and Marines.

On Monday, November 8, Lee placed flags at the graves of local veterans at the cemetery, honoring their service and memory.

As a Marine, Lee says he does this to take care of those who came before him. Lee says the effort, which he has been making for 20 years, also coincides with the Marine Corps’ anniversary which is celebrated on Nov. 10.

“The anniversary of the Marine Corp is the 10th, so I come and raise the flags for the Marines that came before us. I have been doing this for 20 years and it is an honor and pleasure for me to do so and to d ‘loving I said it’s an honor and a privilege, we Marines take care of each other, ”said Lee.
