LUMBERTON — Robeson County Public Schools have been recognized statewide for outstanding communication by the North Carolina School Public Relations Association.

The NCSPRA honored Robeson County Public Schools for Excellence in Communications during a virtual ceremony on Friday.

Robeson County Public Schools won a total of two Blue Ribbon Awards for Outstanding and Effective Communication.

The school district also received two bronze-level awards for outstanding electronic media and publications.

Ken Derksen, president and executive director of the NCSPRA for Community Engagement and Student and Family Support for Wayne County Public Schools, said the work of the awardees exemplifies the high standards and qualities demonstrated by members in their daily school communication programs.

“The Blue Ribbon Awards are among the highest and most prestigious honors a member of our organization can achieve. I congratulate all of this year’s winners on achieving statewide recognition as a Blue Ribbon Award winner. These awards recognize superior work in school communications and all that our members do to support and promote North Carolina public schools,” said Derksen.

Each year, the NCSPRA recognizes outstanding papers through its Blue Ribbon Awards program. Robeson County Public Schools was one of 37 school districts in the state to receive a Blue Ribbon Award. This year’s submission categories included: Marketing, Digital Media Engagement, Electronic Media, Writing Excellence, Publications, Image/Graphic Design, Photography, and Special Projects and Events.
