NEWARK – A reward of $ 5,000 is offered for solid answers related to the murder of a man found in a cemetery along South 19th Street.

The Essex County District Attorney’s Office on Thursday announced the Sheriff’s Crime Stoppers Award, for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person (s) responsible.

Officials say the body of Newark resident Alexander Jones, 51, was found in the Hebrew cemetery on December 8. An autopsy determined the cause of his death to be blunt and violent trauma.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the authorities at 1-877-TIPS-4EC. The calls will be kept confidential.
