The Gold Camp Association presents its objectives for 2022

0

The Gold Camp Association (GCA), a collection of nonprofits, corporations, and government elements, is a dynamic and growing organization. As you may recall, the GCA plans, organizes, coordinates, promotes and hosts events in the Gold Camp District during the 2022 calendar year and beyond. Our goal is to organize family events in the region for the benefit of the economic development and maintenance of the district.

What do we do? We have :

  • Creation of a logo and a slogan—Elevate your adventures… check out Gold Camp!
  • Worked with the towns of Cripple Creek and Victor to update large double-sided tourist maps with current points of interest, shops, restaurants, accommodations, churches, parks, casinos and related features . These maps are essential for tourists to know where to shop, eat, stay and play.
  • Committed to working/supporting a dozen events (and crescents) in the district, including 4th of JulyandVictor Gold Rush Days, Donkey Derby Day, Aspen Tours, Memorial Service at Mount Pisgah Cemetery, Christmas Season Events, and more.
  • Registered with the State of Colorado as a non-profit organization and opened a bank account with donated funds.
  • Drafting articles of incorporation and bylaws to register as a charitable nonprofit with the IRS. Also, created a GCA business plan.
  • We have organized our volunteers into five teams: leadership, marketing, events, volunteers and technology. These teams focus on improving our events and operations. The marketing team has identified several websites and social media sites, email distribution lists, tourist sites, print and digital media connections and other advertising networks to quickly spread our event information.
  • Worked with communities to educate and solicit support for our mission. So far we have over 30 member and associate organizations in the region that are aligned with us and our purpose. Thank you!

We are excited for 2022 and the future! The list of GCA members and associates is growing, so join the fun. More information will become available as plans and activities for the 2022 event are developed and finalized.
