Visitors to Taguig’s cemeteries and memorial parks are allowed to stay on the premises for up to two hours only in accordance with guidelines issued by the city government.

The municipal government’s Taguig Safe City task force released Advisory No. 53 on the operation of cemeteries, memorial parks and columbariums this year.

Under the Safe City guidelines, from October 14, the number of visitors to all cemeteries, memorial parks and other similar places will be allowed up to a maximum of 30% of the venues capacity.

People are allowed to visit from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m. and from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. but they can only stay for a maximum of two hours.

The visitors’ schedule will be based on the first letter of the last name of their deceased. The letters “A” to “M” are allowed to visit from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m. while those from “N” to “Z” can visit from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.

“Private cemeteries and memorial parks are strongly encouraged to implement their own scheduling and appointment system in order to avoid overcrowding and ensure easy tracking of all their visitors,” according to the guidelines.

The task force said, however, that burial and cremation services will be permitted during the visitors ban period.

Activities in public and private cemeteries, memorial parks and columbariums will be limited to lighting candles and offering flowers and prayers, he added.

Here are the other working group guidelines for visitors to the cemetery:

A. Minors, vaccinated elderly and vaccinated vulnerable people, including those with co-morbidities, pre-existing health problems or pregnant women, will be allowed to visit their deceased relatives at all cemeteries and memorial parks in Taguig .

B. Vulnerable unvaccinated people are strongly discouraged from leaving their homes to visit cemeteries or memorial parks in order to protect their health and safety.

C. All cemeteries and memorial parks must designate separate entry and exit points

D. All visitors must complete health declaration forms prior to entry. The use of QR codes or other online applications is strongly encouraged

E. Temperature scanning must be performed prior to entry. Visitors with a temperature above 37.50 ° C should be refused entry and immediately reported to the COVID-19 hotline

F. Alcohol or alcohol-based disinfectants should be readily available at the entrance and in other strategic areas of the facility.

G. Face masks and face shields must be worn at all times

H. All visitors must strictly adhere to a social distance of at least 1 meter at all times.

I. In accordance with the rules of General Community Quarantine (GCQ), gatherings of more than ten (10) people per group are strictly prohibited. until further amendment

J. Smoking is strictly prohibited inside all cemeteries and memorial parks. and all designated smoking areas must remain closed

K. To ensure the above-mentioned protocols are followed and strictly enforced, all cemeteries and memorial parks must deploy static and roving security protocol patrol officers to remind all their visitors

L. There must be a vendor area in all public and private cemeteries and memorial parks. Only sellers or vendors of flowers and candles are permitted, and the sale of other food and non-food items is strictly prohibited.

M. All vendors or vendors must strictly adhere to basic health protocols, such as, but not limited to, wearing face masks and face shields, regular hand hygiene, and observing distancing social
